Kevlar Thread:

The responsible armed citizen exercising his right is the Kevlar thread in the fabric of society. The greater the concentration, the more protective the fabric.

En Shalla:

In the box- the one that accepts the fact that he is in physical danger, and his body may be hurt or destroyed- is the one that moves freely, without fear, and is productive. It is an essential ingredient in the warrior class, this acceptance. I’m not sure if this level of bravery  is possible without a belief in a higher being.

Socialism:

Socialism shines in a crisis. It makes the strong feel heroic, and it makes the weak feel protected. It is not enduring, though- because after the crisis is over, the weak do not improve, and the strong realize that gaining the admiration of the weak was really nothing worth gaining.

AR-15s:

“No one needs an AR-15;” I’ve heard from some of my friends, and I think all will be surprised to hear that I completely agree.

“An” Implies “one”, and I think a good guy is poorly situated if he only has one. A fellow needs three: one to train with, one to fight with, and one to use later for either parts or currency.

Defund?:

Defunding the police, with the expectation that crime will decrease/ security improve; is precisely the same as defunding a flood wall and expecting your feet to stay dry.

The New Cold War

I think that simply dismissing our current national frictions and resulting divisiveness as simple competitive politics in this day is naïve. I think that this country is in the maturing stages of an internal and political cold war, with our national identity at stake. We should be concerned about when, not if, that cold war turns hot.  My prediction it starts today. (3 Nov 20)
